Agora/広場 3

In the corridor of ‘Void in a Forest’, the light always comes from the court (agora) next to the corridors.

When the residents go to one’s unit or go out to the city, they always proceed in the light place. Thanks to the light, the straight corridors are not monotonous but are places one would feel tastes of seasons.

Also one could be able to feel Japanese traditional feeling of ‘Light and Shadow’. When  YDS Architects designs houses and residential buildings, the practice intends to design spaces of paths(rojis) as well as of agora.

The paths between housing units and the entrance hall would be enjoyable spaces with the light and wind by these agoras and paths.

In this residential building, stairs are placed in the court so that they connect with each other which functions as three-dimensional public spaces.
