This is a renovation project of a house.

Since they have lots of books and they want living space that is softly articulated from kitchen, how to design bookshelves for those books is the main design theme.

YDS designs bookshelves like a “Column of books” and places them in an arc.

These bookshelves are like louvers, and they would softly divide the living space and kitchen.

At night these bookshelves function as lighting devices which illuminate the rooms.

Light and architecture would be unified in this space.

New scene came into being in this house by designing and expanding the means of bookshelves.
