YDS

Located at the central area of Shanghai, the intention is to create spaces of living, working and shopping sterically stacked together with the nature, making this skyscraper itself a city with the nature.

Two kinds of spaces of vertically develop within the architecture which hold several hanging gardens. These gardens function as “Gardens in the sky” where people enjoy, relax, and have conversations together. Trees, natural light, and wind in these gardens enfold all the spaces.

These cubic volumes are sustained by the columns of steels in the core and four walls of exposed concrete. The walls are bigger as they go up which give variations of inner spaces and terraces. The walls symbolize the design of this skyscraper.

This architecture is like a vertical city which have various spaces with the vertical nature.
